What is NATE certification?
NATE (North American Technician Excellence) is an independent organization that certifies installation or service technicians with a knowledge-based test.
There are two core tests based on the technician's career path: service techs take the Core Service test, and installation techs take the Core Installation test. Both tests are standardized 50-question, multiple-choice tests. But thats just the beginning.
To become certified, technicians must also pass a specialty test with 100 multiple-choice questions focused on one area of HVAC/R.
